Dave started talking about doing some club socials and picked the 22nd as the date and the Gordon Arms (partially rebuilt but up and running again after last years fire). Initial plan was for 8 / 8.30 meetup to allow for some flying but due to the long range forecast being a tad strong that was brought forward to 7pm.

Guess what... Yep. Forecast speed dropped and it was flyable.

Sean was first on the hill (bridgend) and got an hour of soaring in before heading to Dudley's prior to the pub. Neil then headed up as Sean was flying down. Got some good flying in too. Reported that it was light then picked up and there was a wind gradient with height.

Rob and Dave Lyle had a flyabout as I was walking up. At this time of year we normally land on the hillside of the megget water. There were sheep on the hill so Rob landed in the normal triangle landing field after checking it was clear of sheep.

Derek was sheltering in the car when I arrived. It was a tad chilly and he didn't want to mess his hair up with a walk up the hill.

I was supposed to be doing a Tandem with Dave but as he was running late I took the solo up the hill and got 15 - 20 min soaring in before I got a tad chilled and decided to join everyone else at the pub.

The 'Yarrow Ladies' were not in attendance in the pub. Logans suggestion of latecomers being stripped and thrown to them appears to have made it further than the google group and scared them off.

10 in attendance in the pub. Neil did sterling service sorting out Jed's Flymaster gps vario and reconfiguring his laptop. I had slightly less success poking at Seans competino but by then the food had arrived and faffing with kit seamed less interesting.

It was good to catch up with everyone again. Fingers crossed for some good flying this year and more post flying pub nights.
