An interesting day at broughton. The forecast last week was for an epic looking day today.
Lots of discussion about XC flights and where to go on the group. Bodesbeck looked ideal based on rasp but the logistics of it (moffat - selkirk road closed for repair till the start of april) put us off.
Not the nicest of days. Arrived early with Tommy due to road closure to an overcast sky, with sports of rain and moving clouds. We walked up green hill about halfway up to consider. Tommy did not like it but the wind felt reasonable to me so I took off. It was stronger than I had judged really and I got pinged up quite rapidly to the clouds. It was pretty bouncy at cloud level. I hung on soaring for a bit then thought I would go down and land.
After what seems like an age, a possible flying day at last. The LLSC guys were going to give Dungavel a try so myself and Rob set off to join them.
A likely looking slot presented itself today so a few off us met up at the bottom of Cacra. We drove the landrover up to the top gate and a short stroll to the top found a nice friendly breeze, so after a short time it was time to fly.
