No wind, so took my own advice and practiced forward launches.

Was perfect. 12mph straight on the hill and two nosy Kestrels for company. One of those nights where flying alone is a pleasure. Whole ridge was working.
Rob.
(the rest of the club only slightly jealous... )
Sunday morning lie in. in a tent! No kids. The day couldn't get any better.
Head out of the tent showed that the bonfire was still burning and people were stirring.
sky was blue. wave clouds were missing so game on.
The day started bright and sunny but as I'm talking about 6am it was bound to change as our club was hosting a round of the Scottish Nationals paragliding comp.
By 8.30 there were clouds in the sky. Quite sculpted clouds.. known by paraglider pilots as "wave" clouds. Pretty much a normal start to a days paragliding competition in the UK then!
The forecast hinted that there might be a chance of evening flying at Newark Hill so a plan was hatched to meet at the bottom for 16:30. A bit of miscommunication meant that Stephen made it to the bottom just after 17:00.
